Lovran
Lovran is a town with a long and diverse past, 8 kilometers away from the Opatija and also one of the most attractive towns on Riviera. Of all the places developed on Opatija Riviera, Lovran is the oldest, preserving its historical core and medieval city plan. The old city was surrounded by defensive walls and bastions. With its paved streets, stone houses and steps Lovran has the best preserved old core on the whole Adriatic coast. Beside the old town, Lovran is proud of its beautiful beaches, unique mountain inland, excellent restaurants and hospitable hosts. The main square in the city, with the parish church, city tower and baroque houses are some of the parts of its history and culture. Tourism in Lovran began in 1873. and in 1878. it was proclaimed a cure town (health resort). Because of that many prominent guest came here and built their own villas, very attractive even today. Today you can find accommodation in numerous villas and hotels and enjoy on two public beaches, Peharovo and Kvarner. Briefly, Lovran is ideal place for people who want to rest in intimate place, with rich culture and history.
